I am a Professor at University of Lorraine. I am Deputy Director of ESIAL, School of Engineering in Information Technology (École Supérieure d'Informatique et Applications de Lorraine), associate school of Institut Telecom, where I teach Enterprise Information Systems. I conducts research at CRAN (Research Centre for Automatic Control), Joint Research Unit (UMR 7039) associated with University of Lorraine and CNRS, and member of the Research Federation Charles Hermite.
I received my PhD on Production Engineering in 1991 from Université Henri Poincaré Nancy I and my habilitation for supervising research (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) in 2006.
My research field is in information systems modelling and semantics formalisation for enterprise systems and process interoperability, with applications in manufacturing systems. I am working in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and MES (Manufacturing Execution System) integration from a Business to Manufacturing perspective.
I am expert for the AFNOR (French National standardisation body), the CEN TC310 and the ISO TC184/SC4 and SC5. I have participated in many European projects including IMS FP5-IST Smart-fm project (awarded by IMS) and the FP6 INTEROP NoE (Interoperability Research for Networked Enterprises Applications and Software). I am a member of the SOCOLNET scientific organization.
I am currently Chair of the IFAC Technical Committee 5.3 on Enterprise Integration and Networking.
